Suggest a Title

The Vancouver Public Library strives to build a balanced collection to serve the public. Selection decisions are based on the VPL’s Collection Development Policy as well as available funding and space.

Please take a look at our Guidelines and FAQs for details on the selection process. We appreciate your ideas and contributions, and while we consider all suggestions, it is not possible to add all items to the collection.

How Do I Suggest a Title?

What happens after I suggest a title?

1. A librarian reviews your suggestion

  • All suggestions are reviewed and we may select the title if it meets collections criteria.
  • It is not possible to add all items to the collection.

2. Check back - search our catalogue

  • Approximately 3-4 weeks after your submission to see if your suggested title has been added.
  • Due to the volume of suggestions, we're unable to respond about collections decisions.
