Janice Lynn Mather is a Bahamian-Canadian author with Jamaican roots. Her first novel Learning to Breathe was a Governor General’s Award finalist, a BC Book Prize finalist, and won the 2020 Joan F. Kaywell Books Save Lives Award. Her second novel Facing the Sun is an Amy Mathers Teen Book Award recipient. Her third teen novel Where Was Goodbye will be released in 2023. Janice has also written Uncertain Kin, a short story collection. She lives and writes in Tsawwassen.
