Can I visit if I’m not feeling well?
  • If you are feeling sick or experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home. VPL has a range of services available online to meet your needs until you feel better and able to visit in person.
  • If someone in your household is showing symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.
  • If you think you may have symptoms of coronavirus, contact HealthLink BC's new dedicated COVID-19 line: Call 1.888.COVID19 or text at 1.888.268.4319.

What library services are currently available?

Services currently available include:

  • Browsing of physical collections for adults, teens and children
  • Pick up of holds
  • Book returns
  • Public computer access
  • In-branch printing, scanning and photocopying
  • Indoor seating options for reading and studying
  • In-person information services
  • Borrowing musical instruments
  • Inspiration Lab creation and digitization stations
  • Digital Library access to ebook, audiobook, streaming movies and music, online courses and more
  • Online programming and events
  • Information services and support via email (info@vpl.ca) and phone service (604.331.3603)

What services are not available yet?

The following services remain suspended at this time:

  • Inspiration Lab recording studios
  • The Vancouver Inspiration Pass program

When will in-person programs and events at the library return?

I signed up for a temporary library card online. Can I use it to check out physical materials?

Temporary library cards can only be used to access our Digital Library. If you would like to check out materials in person, you can validate your account and receive your permanent card at any open VPL branch. Make sure you bring personal identification and proof of current residential address.

Can I donate material to the library?

We are not accepting donations.
