Celebrated annually in May, Asian Heritage Month commemorates the numerous ways that Asian Canadians have contributed to shaping Canada’s history. The celebration honours Asian communities and cultures, showcases their achievements, and raises an awareness to their continued struggles and perseverance against anti-Asian racism.

Asian Heritage Month serves as an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn about the diverse experiences of pan-Asian communities throughout Canada. Below are resources, events, and organizations to help young people learn more about Asian Canadian history, the Asian Canadian experience, and the ongoing struggle for racial justice and equity.

Are you an Asian artist, writer, or expert in your field interested in partnering with the library to run a program for kids or teens? We’d love to hear from you! Learn more and submit a proposal.
