In Memory of Joan Andersen, Former VPL Board Chair

It is with sadness we learned that VPL’s former Board Chair, Joan Andersen, recently passed away.

Joan had two tenures on VPL’s Board, joining the Board for the first time from 1978 to 1983 and returning to serve again from 2003 to 2010 as Board Chair, for a total of 13 years with VPL. Joan retired from VPL’s Board in 2010 with several notable accomplishments during her time as Chair, including the opening of Mount Pleasant and Kensington branches, the launch of the Skilled Immigrant Info Centre, and the beginning of the Indigenous Storyteller in Residence program.
