BLUFF

Requires:
2 males: 25-35 to play the lead and doubling actor on alternating nights
2 females: 25-35 to play the lead and doubling actor on alternating nights
1 actor: 50-60 to play Gene (Emily’s step-father)
1 female: 50-60 to play Georgia (Emily’s mother)
Notes: No appointments; actors will be seen on a first-come first served basis. Please bring a résumé and headshot to the audition, if possible. Cold read from the script. This is a non-Equity production. Actors cast will have to become members of NVCP at the first rehearsal ($20 fee). Rehearsal schedule: two read throughs June; concentrated rehearsals from July 29 to preview night. These are open auditions, but preference will be given to existing members of NVCP.
Description of Play: Emily and Neal are doing fine as a new couple in New York until her brash and vulgar stepfather comes to town for a convention. Gene brings with him all of the contradictions Emily has been trying to bury. Bluff alternates between farce and drama to build a quirky comedy about love and family on a collision course. This hilarious play was nominated for the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Work.

The Cat in the Hat (adapted by Katie Mitchell) February/March 2013 @ The Waterfront Theatre Cast of 6. We are casting for the roles of The Boy (Male Actor) and Thing 1 and Thing 2 (Petite Female Actors with strong gymnastic skills required). The other roles (The Cat in the Hat, Sally and the Fish) have been cast.

As our General Auditions are meant to be introductory in nature, actors who have auditioned for Carousel Theatre in the past two seasons, as well as actors who have worked for Carousel Theatre before are invited to submit for specific productions.
