Fine Arts & Music Collection
The Fine Arts & Music collection is an important cultural resource with a broad range of print and audiovisual material, an extensive music collection, subject clipping files, and various special indexes. The collection includes more than 120,000 reference and circulating books, 214 active periodical titles, and 17,000 music compact discs.
Subjects inlcude: Architecture; City Planning; Dance; Decorative Arts; Fine and Visual Arts; Film and Motion Pictures; Graphic and Computer Arts; Handicrafts; Landscape Design; Music; and Photography.
Specialized Collection Areas
Music Collection
Contains over 12,000 popular songbooks, instrumental music books, classical music scores and parts, scores of operas and musicals, and instructional music materials.
Canadian Artists Files
These are newspaper clippings and exhibition notices on thousands of Canadian artists and many B.C. Artists.
Picture File
This is a lending collection of 1 million pictures taken from magazines and arranged by subject. Up to 25 pictures may be borrowed.
