Description: This is one of Agatha Christie’s most famous mysteries and the longest-running play in theatre history.
Notes: There will be a cold reading at the auditions. Please bring a resume and headshot. There will not be any pre-booked audition times. Non-Equity. While this is a community theatre production please, if you audition, be prepared to commit yourself to all necessary rehearsals.

THE AFFECTIONS OF MAY

After being deserted by her husband, a woman suddenly finds herself the centre of attention in a small resort town. It's easy to see why this is Foster's most popular play. It is funny, borders on farce, without crossing the line.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN PRODUCTIONS – GENERAL AUDITIONS

Requires: Dancers & Singers
Notes: Singers: Come prepared with your best 16-32 bars of a ballad and an up-tempo. Stylistically, you must be able to sing Pop/Rock, R&B, Contemporary Musical Theater/Broadway, and Jazz. Sheet music required in the proper key. No acapella or CD allowed. An accompanist will be provided for you. Singers must have the ability to act and phonetically speak other languages. Also, come prepared to do movement combinations.
FEMALES - must have the ability to belt/mix up to an "F" and then switch gears to produce sultry alto notes below a "C."
MALES - must be able to sing comfortably up to an "A" with the ability to sustain upper notes.
Dancers: Must be technically trained with a strong background in Jazz. Our choreographer will teach you three challenging combinations. Flying and tumbling skills are a plus. Character Performers: Female and Male performers to appear as DreamWorks costumed characters. Should have a basic movement/dance background as you will be performing in many different venues on board as well as meet-and-greets. Mask work and full body puppetry a plus. Height 4'10" to 6'4".

Description of Play - The Real Thing is a play by Tom Stoppard about the costs of love. Set in 1980s London, Henry, a playwright, writes wittily about jealousy and betrayal while his personal life mirrors his own musings. This is a funny, articulate play about the seriousness of human relations.

NAOMI’S ROAD

Notes: Vancouver Opera will be holding auditions for the Vancouver Opera In Schools (VOIS) Touring Ensemble's 2012-2013 season production of Naomi's Road on February 17, 2012, in Vancouver. The opera, Naomi's Road was originally commissioned by Vancouver Opera in 2003. Naomi's Road, which details a young Japanese-Canadian girl's experiences as her family is interned during World War II, is a coming of age story that celebrates the power of hope, cultural understanding and compassion. Please see the Vancouver Opera website, http://www.vancouveropera.ca/auditions.html, for a detailed synopsis of Naomi's Road. Vancouver Opera operates under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Actors' Equity Association. Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Notes: The show is March 24th at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, Abbotsford and Art Matters Society with the Penny-a-Line Players of Abbotsford are producing a one night benefit showing of The Vagina Monologues. We have raised over $70,000 in the past 8 years for local and International women's groups to help stop violence against women and girls. This year 10% of proceeds to the Women of Haiti.

Emma Woodhouse (21-28) attractive, accomplished, willful, intelligent, sophisticated and arrogant. (actor must be able to carry a tune well)
Mrs. Weston (25-35) - Emma’s former governess and new wife of Weston.
Harriet (17-24) - Soft, amiable, easily swayed, an orphan of a class below Emma.
Mrs. Elton (24-30) - Vain, nouveau-riche, opinionated new wife of Elton.
Miss Bates ( 50 +) - middle-aged spinster, kind but terribly talkative. Lives in genteel poverty
Jane Fairfax (21-28) - beautiful, talented, a bit cool and reserved, hiding a secret. (actor must be able to sing well)
Mr. Woodhouse (60 +) - Emma’s father. An expert worrier and hypochondriac.
Knightley (38-45) - Handsome, virile, rational gentleman farmer with great judgement and tact, a man’s man.
Mr. Weston (40-50) - kindly and cheerful, bit of a country squire, genial, generous, easy- going and warm-hearted.
Frank Churchill (24-32)- handsome, well-mannered, man about town.
Robert Martin (24) - capable, solid, friendly, young local farmer.
Mr. Elton (26) - local vicar, a bit nerdy but good looking, impeccable manners, looking for the right marriage.
2 servants – any age
Description: a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel. Though handsome, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse greatly overestimates her matchmaking abilities with potentially devastating results.
