About AskAway
AskAway is an information service for British Columbians provided by public libraries throughout the province.
The service is a live, chat-based information service that offers immediate, interactive, and knowledgeable help online.
Using chat, our expert staff provide research guidance and help with navigating the Internet, your library's catalogue, and other online resources. If you provide an email address at the end of your session, a full transcript of your session including all links will be delivered to your email account.

Fine Print
The Vancouver Public Library answers questions in a wide range of subjects via email, chat, telephone and in-person. The Library reserves the right to refer residents outside British Columbia to their local library, depending on subject of question and/or demand. Certain restrictions will apply to licensed databases for non-library card holders. Read our online privacy policy.
Homework Questions
AskAway staff are happy to assist public, private and home schooled students with their homework assignments through live online chat. However, AskAway is an information service, not a tutorial centre. We can help you navigate the Internet, search databases, and select books and videos. We help you find the information you need. We cannot do your homework for you.
